COPPER: BofA says Chile’s IRR won’t exceed 10% with new royalty bill
Analysts at the Bank of America Global Research team estimate the proposed new royalty/taxation bill in Chile would cap internal rate of returns (IRR) on greenfield investments at 10%, Kallanish reports.
The tax legislation reform, which is making its way through Congress, seeks to require miners to pay a royalty, with marginal taxes on revenues rising to 75%. If approved, “miners would give up most of the upside from operating in Chile,” the analysts…
