Chinese lithium carbonate spot prices drop, futures fluctuate
Chinese battery-grade spot lithium carbonate prices declined around 4.5% in the week ending on 4 August, while futures contracts closed on Friday with prices all above CNY 200,000/tonne ($27,840/t), Kallanish reports.
Spot prices dropped to about CNY 265,000-275,000/t on Friday, down 1% during the day and 8% on the month. The price declines are expected to be limited in the third quarter, but might expand starting from the fourth quarter due to changes in demand …
