China’s Tsingshan to invest $233m into Chilean LFP plant
China’s Tsingshan Holding Group is preparing to invest $233 million in a lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) production plant in the Antofagasta region of Chile.
Tsingshan subsidiary Yongqing Technology was chosen to develop the plant, which is expected to begin operations in May 2025. According to a release from the Chilean government, the facility will have a maximum production capacity of 120,000 tonnes/year of LFP and will create nearly 670 jobs.
