China’s BYD to build industrial complex for EVs, battery materials in Brazil
Chinese automaker BYD plans to invest BRL 3 billion ($620.17 million) in an industrial complex in Brazil’s Bahia state to produce electric vehicles and battery materials, Kallanish reports.
The complex—BYD’s first in the Americas—includes three factories which will be located in the Camaçari industrial park. The region was previously occupied by Ford, which closed its plant in 2021.
