China reviews grain-oriented electrical steel duties
China has decided to launch an anti-dumping investigation into grain-oriented flat-rolled electrical steel originating from Japan, South Korea and the EU, following the expiry of duties in place for the past five years.
Grain-oriented steels are typically used for transformers, while non-oriented varieties find their way into electric motors. Both are in increasingly high demand due to Asia's burgeoning electric vehicle industry, Kallanish notes.
