Chile’s Cemin secures a renewable energy supply
Chilean Cemin Holding Minero (CHM) says it has signed a four-year contract with local energy supplier ENGIE Energía for the supply of renewable energy to its operations. CHM will become the first Chilean medium-scale mining company to use green energy, Kallanish notes.
ENGIE Energía will supply 1.48 gigawatt-hours per year of renewable energy for the operation of the CHM La Ligua’s Pullalli mine, in the Valparaíso region.
