Chile takes Albemarle to international arbitration
Chile is taking US miner Albemarle to court over allegedly royalties underpayment, the head of the country’s development agency told a local newspaper on Sunday.
According to Corfo’s chief, Pablo Terrazas, the royalty calculations done by the lithium giant last year was short by $15 million. The company paid around $44m, instead of the expected $60m, he told El Mercurio.
