Chile evaluates private sector proposals for lithium extraction
The Chilean mining ministry is evaluating private sector proposals for lithium projects after receiving 88 expressions of interest, Kallanish learns.
Companies from 10 countries applied for projects in Arica and Parinacota, Tarapacá, Antofagasta and Atacama. Nearly a fifth of the expressions of interest were made by joint ventures. Seven projects were in areas excluded from the process and will not be considered.
