Chevron, Caterpillar to pilot hydrogen transportation, power storage
US oil major Chevron is partnering with leading construction and mining equipment manufacturer Caterpillar to develop hydrogen pilot projects, Kallanish reports.
The companies agreed to establish demonstration projects in transportation and stationary power applications, including prime power. The rationale is to confirm the feasibility and performance of hydrogen as a commercially viable alternative to conventional fuels for line-haul and marine vessels.
