BASF to produce cathode materials with 30% less CO2 emissions
BASF is promising to deliver a 30% reduction in the CO2 footprint of battery materials, with the construction of its new cathode active materials production plant in Schwarzheide, Kallanish reports.
The plant will supply roughly 400,000 full electric vehicles (EVs) per year with “innovative cathode materials,” which BASF claims to increase the performance of batteries. Start-up is slated for 2022.
