BHP, Lundin agree to buy copper miner Filo
BHP and Lundin Mining Corp are jointly acquiring copper miner Filo Corp for CAD 4.1 billion ($2.9 billion).
The acquisition comes as BHP seeks to boost its exposure to copper, whose prices have reached all-time highs in May. The Australian mining giant bought copper and nickel miner OZ Minerals for $6.4 billion in 2023 and made waves earlier this year after attempting to acquire Anglo American, though without success.
