Battery storage could replace Long Island peakers
A new study calls for New York’s Long Island to install battery storage over the next 10 years to replace 2,300 megawatts of natural gas-fired and oil-fired power plants that provide peaking electricity, Kallanish reports.
Such a move would save Long Island customers $390 million over the decade and significantly reduce harmful air pollutants.
