Ascend Elements to invest $1 billion in Kentucky lithium-ion battery plant
Massachusetts-based Ascend Elements says it will invest $1 billion to develop and expand a sustainable lithium-ion battery materials facility in southwestern Kentucky, Kallanish reports.
Groundbreaking for the plant in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, is expected in fourth quarter 2022 as the company invests about $310 million in Phase 1 of the project.
