AGL commences 200MW Victoria battery development
Australian utility AGL has commenced development of a 200 megawatt (MW) battery storage project in Victoria, Kallanish reports.
AGL confirmed development activities are now underway for a large grid-scale, 200MW battery, based at Loy Yang in the Latrobe Valley, in state of Victoria, Australia. The site is currently home to the Loy Yang coal-fuelled power station, which has a nameplate capacity of 3.28 gigawatts and is jointly-owned by AGL, ENGIE and Mitsui Group.
