Achema secures €122m state aid to switch to green H2
The European Commission has approved a €122 million ($133m) Lithuanian state aid for fertiliser producer Achema to partly replace grey with green hydrogen in its fertiliser production processes.
The company will receive the financial aid in the form of a direct grant, offered through the Just Transition Fund. Proceeds will be used to install a 1-megawatt alkaline electrolyser at Achema’s production site in the Kaunas region.
