ABF breaks ground on Arizona LFP gigafactory
American Battery Factory (ABF) has broken ground at its lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) battery cell gigafactory in Tucson, Arizona.
The factory, slated to be roughly 185,800 square metres, represents a $1.2 billion capital investment. ABF says the facility will accelerate the US’ clean energy economy, due in part to the region’s “high-capacity” border and transportation infrastructure. It is expected to provide an estimated 1,000 jobs.
