Walsin Indonesia starts new nickel pig iron furnace
PT Walsin Nickel Industrial Indonesia (WNII) put a new electric furnace into operation on 9 February. This is ultimately expected to produce 850 tonnes/month of nickel pig iron, Kallanish notes.
This also means that a total of 38 electric furnaces have so far been put into operation at the new ferronickel project in Tsingshan Industrial Park, Central Sulawesi.
