US Steel, Molten receive hydrogen-powered steel pilot grant
US Steel and California-based startup Molten Industries have received a $4.5 million grant for their joint hydrogen-powered steel production project.
Awarded by the US Department of Energy (DoE), the funding will be used to design, build, and test a pilot-scale system intended to cut carbon emissions from iron reduction.
