US rig count drops below 600, Canada up
The number of active oil and gas rigs in the US is now below 600 for the first time in almost 2.5 years, Kallanish learns from oil services company Baker Hughes.
The US rig count declined by six to 594 in the week ended 7 June, 101 fewer units than in the equivalent week of 2023. Of the new total, 492 are oil rigs and 98 are for gas, whilst four are categorised as miscellaneous.
