Ukrainian HRC exports surge as downstream coil declines
Ukraine increased flat steel exports in June compared with the previous month, with hot rolled coil driving the surge while downstream shipments were pulled back, according to national customs data.
Total volume delivered amounted to 156,400 tonnes, up by 8.5% month-on-month and 27.2% more than June 2023, Kallanish notes. In monetary terms, flats exports increased 0.3% on-month, but were 0.6% less year-on-year at $94.2 million.
