Tata Steel posts record June-quarter sales
Steelmaking major Tata Steel has achieved its best-ever sales in the fiscal quarter ending June (Q1). Its India deliveries increased by 3% year-on-year to 4.94 million tonnes due to a rise in domestic deliveries, Kallanish notes.
The company’s crude steel production rose by 5% year-on-year to 5.25mt in Q1. It was lower by 2.8% on a quarter-on-quarter basis from 5.4mt in the March quarter, due to planned maintenance shutdowns during the period.
