Stainless scrap prices seen declining in September
Italian stainless steel scrap prices are seen declining in the coming weeks, and further in September, compared to the start of July. This can be attributed to a decrease in raw materials prices and reduced demand from mills as the August break approaches, Kallanish notes.
Long product mills are experiencing subdued consumption and are opting for longer summer shutdowns. As a result, longs makers are purchasing only small tonnages of pure 304 grade.
