Nucor raises HRC spot price for second week
Nucor has increased its published spot price for hot rolled coil by another $15/short ton to $690/st, Kallanish learns.
It is the second week in a row that the Charlotte, North Carolina-based steelmaker boosted the HRC price. On 29 July, Nucor announced an increase of $25/st to $675/st (see Kallanish 30 July). That move was viewed an attempt to reverse a months-long slump that saw the HRC market price decline by more than 40% since the start of 2024.
