New capacities could hurt ASEAN steel industry: SEAISI
The current overcapacity in the ASEAN-6 steel industry could worsen considerably to threaten the industry with financial losses, Kallanish understands. The South East Asia Iron & Steel Institute (SEAISI) has identified the region could face a massive steel glut if a slew of announced or underway integrated steel projects come into fruition by 2026.
