Iraq rebar prices shoot up
Rebar prices in Iraq soared $80-95/tonne last Saturday, two weeks after parliamentary elections. Locally-made 10-32mm diameter rebar is sold by wholesalers at $790-810/t delivered, whereas local mills are quoting rebar at $765-790/t ex-works on cash payment.
In northern Iraq, Mass Steel is quoting rebar at $790/t, FF Steel at $780/t, Med Steel at $770/t, and ESC and DS tags are at $765/t, Kallanish notes. These prices are all ex-works.
