Indonesia’s MSS trials first RKEF later than planned
China-invested PT Metal Smeltindo Selaras (MSS) has recently put its No.2 rotary kiln electric furnace (RKEF) into trial production. This is the first line commissioned at the company’s ferronickel plant in Indonesian Sulawesi, Kallanish notes.
Construction works, under the responsibility of China’s Qingdao Zhongcheng, began in 2019, but the commissioning of the first RKEF was then delayed to October 2021 because of Covid-19. MSS intends to finall…
