Competition among collectors keeps Benelux scrap prices strong
Benelux scrap prices continue to trend strongly as a result of tough competition among scrap yards which are trying to collect material for previously-agreed deals.
Scrap collection prices have remained strong since recording a sharp increase two weeks ago. While there are yards paying over €205/tonne ($227) to collect HMS 1/2 80:20 scrap, some are refusing to pay such high amounts since export price increases have halted.
