Cognor earnings drop despite semis deliveries surge
Cognor’s consolidated revenue fell 28% on-year in the second quarter to PLN 550.86 million ($142.4m) and net profit plummeted 91% to PLN 2.17m, Kallanish notes.
In the first half of 2024, the Polish steelmaker’s crude steel production fell 3% on-year to 275,725 tonnes. Semi-finished steel sales, however, surged 24% to 121,766t.
Finished steel output rose 4% to 159,642t and sales were flat at 161,042t. Merchant scrap sales fell 31% to 42,277t.
