Baosteel shuts down blast furnace after fire
China’s Baosteel has been forced to suspend the operation of its No.4 blast furnace due to a fire in the hot stove of the furnace plant on the evening of 8 March, Kallanish notes. It is expected that production will soon be resumed, but the steelmaker has not yet said when this will be.
