Algerian Qatari Steel exports surge in first quarter
Algerian Qatari Steel (AQS) exported 320,000 tonnes of steel in the first quarter, up from 100,000t in the year-earlier quarter, company deputy managing director Sofiane Chaib Setti told the state-owned Algeria Press Service (APS).
The Bellara, Jijel-based integrated steelmaking joint venture received in February Cares certification for its rebar and wire rod, allowing the company to enter new global markets, Setti pointed out.
