Egyptian Steel Beni Suef plant 70% completed, launch seen by year-end
Construction of Egyptian Steel’s prospective rebar steelworks in Beni Suef is 70% completed. The plant, along with the firm’s other upcoming rebar mill in Sokhna, is scheduled to be commissioned by year-end, Kallanish learns from the producer.
Both steelworks will be electric arc furnace-based, each with capacities of 600,000 tonnes/year of rebar and 850,000 t/y of square billet. The plants are a joint venture with a Qatari investment group. In D…
