Taiwan's CSC plans EAF, hydrogen for low-carbon steelmaking

Taiwan's largest carbon steelmaker, China Steel Corporation (CSC), is planning to replace a blast furnace with an electric arc furnace to reduce carbon emissions. CSC chairman Weng Chaodong says he plans to build an EAF between 2035 and 2050 to replace one of the four existing blast furnaces, Kallanish notes.
