Enel X, Volkswagen form charging JV in Italy
Enel X is joining forces with Volkswagen to boost Italy’s public charging infrastructure, through a 50-50 joint venture to install and operate over 3,000 charging stations.
With output capacity of 350 kilowatts each, the devices will be installed in 700 locations across northern and southern Italy between 2021 and 2025. The creation of the new company is subject to clearance from Italy’s Council of Ministers and the Antitrust authorities.
