BHP, Escondida union reach agreement after strike
BHP and the workers’ union at the Escondida mine in Chile have reached a deal following a strike at the world’s largest copper mine, Kallanish reports.
A new collective agreement was signed on Sunday night after “intense days of dialogue,” says the Chilean Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare, which mediated the negotiations.
The union had reportedly ended the strike on Friday after reaching a preliminary agreement.
