Ambri to provide long-duration battery storage to South Africa project
Massachusetts-based Ambri will provide its Liquid Metal long-duration battery storage system to South Africa’s Earth & Wire, an independent renewable energy retail brand, Kallanish reports.
The project calls for 300-megawatts, 1,200-megawatt-hours to serve a combined wind- and solar-powered generation site in the Eastern Cape. The project is the largest battery storage system to be deployed in South Africa to date.
