China's HBIS orders hydrogen steelmaking facility
Hebei Iron & Steel (HBIS) purchased a set of hydrogen steelmaking equipment from Tenova at the China International Import Expo (CIIE) held from 5 November to 10 November in Shanghai, Kallanish notes from an interview with HBIS chairman Yu Yong.
This equipment has 1.2 million tonnes/year of steelmaking capacity. HBIS will invest over CNY 1 billion ($152 million) to this hydrogen steelmaking project.
