Metin Tayfun was born in Istanbul in 1955. He completed his high school education in Virginia, US. In 1977, received his mechanical engineering degree, followed by a master’s degree in industrial engineering, both from Texas A&M University. His work experience covers 3.5 years at Amoco Production in Texas, two years at Colakoglu Metalurji, then 26 years at companies including Borusan Group, Monroe Shockabsorbers, Caterpillar and Mannesmann Pipe. In 2010, he joined Colakoglu Metalurji as the company switched its production from long products to mainly flat products. He is a founding member of both the Thrace Industrialists Association and Turkey’s Construction Machinery Industry Association and is a board member of the Automotive Suppliers Association of Turkey (TAYSAD). He is also the chairman of Turkey’s Association of Flat Steel Exporters and Manufacturers (YISAD).

Stanislav is the CEO GMK Center, Chair of the Committee for Environment and Sustainable Development of the European Business Association, President of CSCMP Ukraine Roundtable. Last 5 years provides consulting services for Ukrainian iron & steel companies in sustainability issues, supply chains, CAPEX policy, market analysis. Stanislav Zinchenko has 15-years experience in consulting for manufacturing companies. He has expertise in operational management and supply chains as a team leader, consultant and analyst in international projects in the field of entrepreneurship, operational efficiency and logistic infrastructure. Stanislav has an MA in International Economics at Kyiv National Economic University.

Selçuk was born in İskenderun, Türkiye. He graduated from Istanbul Technical University (İTÜ), department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering in 2008. Having worked as Production Manager and Production Director at various flat steel mills between 2009-2018, he joined Yıldız Demir Çelik AŞ as Supply Chain Director, in March 2018. During this period He also completed EMBA program at Sabancı University. Since August 2022, Selçuk is acting as Deputy General Manager for Commercial at Yıldız Demir Çelik before being promoted recently to General Manager.

After graduating from Oxford University in 1977, with a degree in Mathematics, Dick has spent the last 42 years permanently employed in the steel trade. Over half of those years with current employer Stemcor. Dick’s experience ranges from his earlier years importing flat rolled steel and long products into the UK market, through a period trading long products across the globe, then a decade trading raw materials for steel making, and for the last five years looking after much of Stemcor’s European import and distribution business. Three times Chairman of the International Steel Trade Association, Dick has a wealth of experience, both sourcing and marketing steel products and steel making raw materials, across the globe.

Özlem, has 24 years of experience in the sector, having worked at Tacirler Yatırım Menkul Değerler for more than six years before joining Rota Portfolio, and previously as an Economist at Phillip Capital, Unicorn Capital, Ekspres Investment, HC Istanbul and Ege Yatırım Menkul Değerler. She continues her career as a Chief Economist and has been extensively institutionalised abroad within the framework of her field, and presents strategies and current analyses on macroeconomic developments. Gökşen graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Economics, Department of Econometrics, followed by “Global Business Management” at the University of California Riverside, and then received her master's degree from Marmara University, Social Sciences Institute, Department of Political Science and International Relations.

Andrea graduated as a Mechanical Engineering Technician and has more than 20 years of experience in the Metal Industry, with particular reference to the Rolling Mill field, starting his career in the engineering department. He then moved to the project office, with extensive experience in site activities such as erection & commissioning, also in charge of project implementation as site manager. He has gained wide experience in purchasing and procurement of plants and technologies, worldwide. In 2007, he joined Danieli & C., working in the proposal department of the Danieli Morgardshammar Bar & Wire Rod mill division, becoming head of the department, and was appointed as Vice President Sales. In 2013 he moved to Key Account Management, in charge of Marketing Strategies & Business Development in the Turkish and MENA Regions for all product divisions of Danieli Group. Then in August 2017 he was promoted to Technical & Sales Director in charge of Marketing Strategies & Business Development for Turkey, Africa, Middle East and India for all product divisions of Danieli Group. He is also Director and Board Member of Danieli India Ltd and Danieli Middle East.

Arnaud currently holds the positions of Vice President of Sales at Vulcan Green Steel LLC and Vice President of Strategic Development at Jindal Steel and Power. He has over 35 years of experience in the steel industry, including business development, trading, and industrial operations. He began his career in the 1990s as a technico-commercial and has held various managerial positions at major international steel producers such as Arcelor, SSAB, NLMK and DITH.  In 2019, he became the head of strategic development at SSAB, where he supported the Green Steel Transformation project and feasibility (CTO org) until August 2023. Starting from September 1st, 2023, Arnaud GUERENDEL assumed the role of Vice President of Sales at VULCAN GREEN STEEL LLC, which is the steel arm of Vulcan Green and part of the esteemed Jindal Steel & Power group. Their greenfield steel complex in Duqm (GCC) is set to have a 6 MTPA Green steel capacity, taking advantage of Oman’s exceptional solar and wind resources. This ambitious project has been well-received in Europe, resulting in approximately 6.7 MTPA as MOUs with leaders of different steel user segments within the last fiscal year. Since Sept 1st, he has also assumed the role of Vice President at Jindal Steel and Power (JSPL), supporting strategic activities.

David is an accomplished professional with a proven track record in the intersection of sustainability and the steel industry. With over 10 years of experience, he has focused on enhancing sustainability in the Automotive and Consumer Goods sectors. He has spearheaded transformative projects in decarbonization, material circularity, and through-chain material traceability in the steel industry. Known for a strategic mindset and commitment to the environment, he consistently delivers innovative solutions that drive sustainability. Having worked abroad in multiple countries, he brings extensive international experience, collaborating with teams across the Americas, Europe, and Asia. This global perspective enriches his approach to sustainable practices, recognizing variations across geographies and enabling impactful solutions. Currently, he is focused on increasing circularity by boosting recycled content while preventing downcycling. His ambition is to create closed-loop circularity streams with his global customer base and advance the conversation on recycling and the future of scrap at this conference.

Hisanori Sakai is an Executive Officer at Tokyo Steel, Japan’s largest EAF manufacturer, producing flat and long products in four plants. He currently oversees international sales and the green steel business for the automotive sector. With 20 years of experience in the steel industry, Sakai began his career in overseas product sales and has held various roles in the company, including general manager of one of the plants and managing global scrap procurement. He has been instrumental in developing the company’s carbon-neutral strategy, Tokyo Steel EcoVision 2050, and leading climate initiatives. In June 2024, Sakai launched the enso〓〓 green steel brand in collaboration with Stemcor, targeting environmentally conscious European customers. This launch represents a significant step in the company’s commitment to sustainability and innovation in the steel industry.

Abu Bucker is the CEO and also a member of the Board of Directors of AGIS. He earned his Bachelors Degree in Commerce & Accounting from Mumbai's Sydenham College in 1994 and his Membership in The Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS) in London, UK in 1996. In 1997 Abu Bucker joined the MBA program at Boston University's Graduate School of Management in USA, specializing in International Corporate Finance. After graduating from Boston University, Abu Bucker took up his first position with American International Group Inc. as a Management Associate (MA) at the Company's Regional Controllers Office at Wall Street, New York, USA in 1999. Between Jun 2000 and Jan 2006 he graduated from the MA program and was promoted as Assistant Vice President, wherein he was responsible for managing Financial and Accounting aspects of a $400 Million Dollar Division. In early 2006, Abu Bucker was certified by The Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institution (AAOIFI), Bahrain as an Islamic Professional Accountant and was asked by the Group to take charge as Chief Financial Officer of AIG Takaful, a new $100 million strategic initiative of Islamic Insurance concept grounded in Islamic Principles of Banking transaction and observes the rules and regulations as specified by Sharia (Islamic law). After acquiring invaluable expertise by working for global corporate majors, in April 2007 Abu Bucker joined Al Ghurair Iron  Steel L.L.C, a $100 Million Steel Cold Rolling and Galvanizing Complex the first of its kind in U.A.E.

Fernando is the Presedent of EUROMETAL, a position he has held since December 2018, and is the Managing Director of Layde Steel (Tata Steel Europe) since January 2009. As a senior executive leading transformation through growth, customer oriented actions and full involvement of the organisation, Fernando has more than 20 years of experience in highly demanding commercial organisations, of which 10 years acting as Managing Director promoting the change and market focus to take back to profits a complex entity. Involvement includes all stakeholders, and all levels of the company, including management of the multinational.

Gorkem received his master's degree in Management of Business Administration in 2002 from La Salle University, Philadelphia, USA. He started his career in the US, working in multinational companies such as Saint Gobain. Later, he went on to work in the stock market fortune 500 company SEI Investments as a mutual fund trader in the US. In 2005, he took a challenge in the steel industry and started to work for steel producers as an executive for export markets. Then, he was appointed as a director of the steel desk of LN metals, a commodity trading company in London. In 2012, Gorkem founded Galex Steel International -- a trading house mainly focused on flat steel products and exports to Europe, Turkey, South America, Middle East and Far East. Galex represents reputable government and private mills from China, India and Turkey on regional or project basis. The company covers global markets through its offices in Turkey, China, India and Russia.

Sinan graduated from Middle East Technical University (ODTÜ),  Metallurgical and Materials Engineering department in 2002. His work experience covers two years at Linde Gas as sales engineer, four years at Borçelik as customer technical relations specialist, seven years at SSAB as automotive sales manager. During this period, he completed his MBA programme at Bilgi University. In 2016, he joined the Bamesa Group as a business manager for tailor-welded blanks, and from 2018 till today, he has been working as purchasing director at Bamesa.

Pelin was born in Izmit. She graduated from Gazi University, department of Economics in 2004. Since 2004, she has been working mainly in the steel sector. Having worked as Export Sales Manager at 2 different re-roller steel mills till 2023. Since April 2023, Pelin was acting as Raw Material Procurement Manager at Yıldız Demir Çelik before being promoted recently to Supply Chain Director.

Tomas is the Managing Editor Asia for Kallanish and produces editorial content on the region, with a focus on China, as well as overseeing Kallanish's operations in East Asia. He is based in Shanghai, where he has lived and worked for the last six years. Tomas speaks Mandarin as well as English and Spanish. He has also spent three years in Beijing studying and working. Previously, Tomas worked at Steel Business Briefing, where he joined shortly after graduating with a masters degree in Asian politics from SOAS in London.

Paul is a Director and Co-founder of Kallanish, which he helped to create after working for Steel Business Briefing as General Manager for Asia. With the co-founders, he felt there was a gap for simple, good quality journalism and market intelligence combined with a focus on listening to customer needs. Kallanish aims to put the customer at the forefront of everything it does. Previously, Paul was a Commercial Director and negotiated strategic alliances for blue chip companies in the payments industry. He also holds an MBA from Cranfield School of Management. Paul is based in Kallanish’s London HQ and previously lived in Paris and Shanghai. He speaks fluent French and conversational Mandarin.

Burcak brings 15 years experience in covering global long products and scrap pricing. She is responsible for the Kallanish daily scrap assessment in Turkey, as well as European shredded and US domestic and export pricing. Prior to joining Kallanish she worked for SteelOrbis as Director of Research. She is based in Istanbul.

Burak is Middle East Editor at Kallanish. He looks after pricing analysis for all carbon and stainless steel products, pig iron and rebar for designated markets, with a particular focus on Gulf countries, South Africa and Egypt. He has over ten years of experience foreign trade business as entrepreneur and worked as coordinator in investment projects mainly in Turkey. Before pandemic he worked as lecturer-tourist guide in Turkey. Burak speaks English, Turkish and intermediate level German.    

Having graduated from university in England's steel city of Sheffield, Adam was destined to end up in a career related to the steel industry. He has worked at Kallanish since 2014 as an editor for The Middle East and Turkey, as well as CIS and Eastern Europe, contributing his experience gained from five years in Dubai of the vibrant and fast-growing Middle Eastern and Turkish markets. Adam regularly attends events in the Middle East and Europe, moderating and speaking at some of them. He was previously steel editor at Platts in Dubai and before that Central and Eastern European reporter for Steel Business Briefing in London. Adam prides himself on providing friendly, informative and accurate journalism. He is currently based in Austria and speaks fluent Polish and intermediate German.
