Sodium-ion battery developer Peak Energy raises $55m
US energy storage start-up Peak Energy has raised $55 million from investors to launch full-scale production of its sodium-ion battery technology.
The company plans to deliver “utility-scale” sodium-ion storage in the US as the country expands its renewable electricity capacity. The batteries will complement the grid in storing energy in times of intermittent supply.
