Muhaj Baghdad contracts Danieli for billet caster
Muhaj Baghdad has awarded Danieli the supply of a new three-strand billet caster to be installed in the Babil (Babylon) region of Iraq, Kallanish notes.
The caster will produce 500,000 tonnes/year of rebar-grade 130mm square billet and feed the Danieli-supplied rebar mill in hot charge mode, the technology supplier says.
It features a 1,000mm-long mould, multiple unbending points with 7- and 13-meter radius, and a four-zone water-cooling system.
